TIDAL - what is the maximum sound quality supported?

TIDAL - support for flac files with quality up to 24bit/192kHz (*).
(*) via Connect using the dedicated TIDAL application (mobile or desktop version).

For firmware version: 4.6.606043.48

Bluetooth - what codecs are supported?

The device supports SBC codec (16bit / 44.1kHz).

Stuttering, freezing of playback - what to do?

Note! According to specifications and user manual, the player works only with Wi-Fi networks in the 2.4GHz band.
The player and other devices that work with it (a mobile, a computer) must use the same network and in the case of Wi-Fi connection, they must be connected to the 2.4GHz band.
Some Wi-Fi routers/amplifiers combine the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, which can cause problems.
These 2 bands should be separated (set a different name for each) or only 2.4GHz should be turned on.

I. If you use LAN, make sure that the port in the network router to which the TWA is to be connected is active, e.g. check it with another device.

II. Reset the network router.

III. Make sure that the source device (mobile) is connected to the Wi-Fi network in the 2.4GHz band and that the TWA-10B is connected to the same network (wired LAN or within the range of the 2.4GHz band).

- Check if the wireless antenna is properly screwed to the player.

IV. Reset the TWA-10B - long press the Reset button.

V. Check and update to the latest versions:
- The operating system (iOS, Android) on which the control applications are installed.
- Control applications. It's the best to uninstall them and then download and reinstall.
- Network router software.

VI. Configure the player's network connection:
- If the control application (4Stream, WiiM Home) searches for the player for too long time, press the Reset button once (pressing the Reset button once puts the player into connection setup mode).
- Complete the setup process according to the user manual.
- Check if the network player's firmware is up to date. If not, update the player.
- To start pairing with Bluetooth: change the input to Bluetooth and press the Reset button twice to start pairing (this must be done when pairing each new phone – make sure to disconnect the active Bluetooth connection).

If you still have problems:

I.  Check whether there are any additional devices stressing the network, e.g. TV-stick type media player.
For test and elimination purposes, we recommend disconnecting individual devices from the network and check the playback.

II. If problems with playback occur for the Spotify and Tidal services, you can ignore the control applications (close them) and check the playback directly from dedicated applications  of these services (mobile or desktop) using the Connect option.
Make sure that the Spotify and Tidal apps are updated to the current versions - reinstalling these apps may also help.

BIT-PERFECT - is it supported?

The bit-perfect function is available for both digital outputs (optical and coaxial).
It outputs the same bit depth (up to 24 bits) and sample rate (up to 192kHz) as the original music source - there is no sampling conversion option.

Music with quality higher than 16bit/44.1kHz and maximum up to 24bit/192kHz is available from the following sources: your music library from NAS server and on a mobile device as well as DLNA.

You can listen to Hi-Res 24-bit/48kHz music via the TIDAL Connect using the original TIDAL app (a mobile or desktop version) for those TIDAL Masters contents (assuming you have TIDAL HiFi Plus subscription).

TWA-10B - how can I stream audio?

Streaming options:
1. Over the Internet, using recommended control applications compatible with the TWA-10B player - 4Stream and WiiM Home.
2. Over the Internet, using dedicated Spotify and Tidal mobile or desktop applications and the Connect connection.
3. Over the network, using DLNA/UPnP eg. using audio players like foobar.
4. Using Bluetooth.

Spotify Connect - why are some settings in the Spotify app unavailable?

While streaming from Spotify with Connect via a different device, some Spotify app settings may be unavailable (e.g. sound quality, etc.). The external device, not the Spotify application, is responsible for handling of the sound quality and settings.

Most settings will be available when streaming with Bluetooth.

TWA-10B - can I leave it always ON?

Yes, the player may be left always powered on, it does not significantly affect its lifespan.
The power consumption when turned on without music is 2W.

I cannot add a device in the control application, what should I do?

a- Make sure that the device and the smartphone are connected to the same Internet network and that it is a 2.4GHz network [5GHz network is not supported].
b- Perform a configuration of the connection to the wireless network (wi-fi) on the device (short press the RESET button once).
c- Sometimes when establishing a connection by the control application, if this process takes too long, it is required to start the connection again (b), and then to close and reopen the application.

Is the gapless playback supported?

The gapless playback (uninterrupted playback of consecutive audio tracks) is supported for Spotify, Tidal and NAS discs from firmware 4.6.412542.33.
Short gaps may occur in the gapless playback, depending on the file format of the currently playing track and that of the next track to be played.

TIDAL - is the bit-perfect mode supported?

Tidal bit-perfect mode is not supported.
